Bobbin Along ...

I started my Bobbin roll of embroidery with some running stitch and added this tiny doily.

I cut up a lace mat and tacked a 10" strip onto the start of the fabric then added French knots.

As usual I have no plan it will just evolve.
I have trimmed the width of the piece down to about 3" .
I have no idea as yet how long it will be.

ON A ROLL .......

I've been overwhelmed with fabric and trims from friends and family, so what to do with it ?
I cut a strip of white fabric the width of this wooden bobbin.
and I am going to using different pieces to make a length of embroidery which will then roll up onto the bobbin.
Here is the colour scheme I am going with.  I've got some little flower silks that Ive been keeping for a suitable project and some nice ceramic buttons. Then I realised the buttons won't roll round the bobbin so I could put them on the bottom bit.

Please sign here......

Today along with my Mum and two friends we joined in the
PLEASE SIGN HERE PROJECT at Touchstones in Rochdale.
It has been set up and run by Embroiderer Lynn Setterington.
The Scheme is to make a record of people who live in the Rochdale Borough by stitching your name on to a piece of cloth which will then be made into a reference piece for future generations.
Have a read about it all here

On my desk

The start of a new piece of work.
Selecting which cloth and trim to use.
The flower is from an old tray cloth I've cut up.
Not sure where this is piece is going yet, whether it will be a small sampler or made into something larger.

Touring scrim cloth

A big thank you to Karen, Mo and Diana
for the lovely embroidery and embellishments
they have added to my stitched scrim cloth.

It was so exciting to see what they had added to it and now I am inspired to add more to it myself.
A big thank you as well to Diana for sending me all these lovely trims.
